Abstract: The authors examine the implications of understanding Palestinian mental health from a White colonial lens and offer ways in which a decolonial and liberatory approach to mental health is essential to advance Palestinian well-being. They offer ways in which to situate an understanding of Palestinian mental health within the context of the ongoing settler colonial project that is Israel. The argument is advanced that there is a need to replace existing colonial and White supremacist approaches to the study of Palestinian mental health with ones that recognize the violent structural conditions under which many Palestinians live. They urge the pursuit of frameworks of analysis that are centered in decoloniality and have the goals of structural change and liberation.
